Ten Days...

Clara came ten days overdue on January 10th, which also turns out to be 10 days past the kindergarten entry for 2008/9 cut off.  As the older kids prepared their new backpacks and new lunch bags and new school clothes, Clara looked on with longing eyes.  She of course would love to go to school.  She is ten days too young.  She improvises and carries around her 'homework' that she likes to do throughout the day.  She found a workbook that had a two on it and thought this is a low number it ought to be good for me.  (grade two!) Yesterday we sat on the couch together and did 'homework'.  She is a trooper.  An extra year home with my darling Clara is just fine with me.  

A Little Lesson:

     You just never know why things work out the way they do.  Perhaps Clara will meet a lifelong friend in grade five or maybe get that teacher in grade eight that inspires her to become a zoologist.  Things always just seem to work out in the end.
